One Harvey Weinstein accuser says she won’t celebrate his arrest in a must-read thread

TwitterFacebook

In the days following Harvey Weinstein’s arrest, some within the entertainment industry have posted a statement released by Time’s Up — the organization created in the wake of the scandal.

Others, like actress Annabella Sciorra, have taken things a step further. Sciorra was one of the women to come forward in Ronan Farrow’s follow up stories featured in The New Yorker. On Sunday, she shared that she felt the farthest thing from celebratory when she heard the initial news about his arrest.

“The law finally caught up with Harvey Weinstein on Friday and charge him with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault,” she tweeted. “But nothing about that felt celebratory to me.”  Read more…

TwitterFacebook

Ocean 8’s Sarah Paulson is really, really good at impressions.

So much so that Drew Barrymore was rather impressed by Paulson’s portrayal, which made an appearance when she participated in “Wheel of Impressions” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon late last year. Barrymore gave Paulson the thumbs up at Ellen DeGeneres’ birthday party.

But you know what other impression Paulson happens to be good at? A freakin’ dolphin. Skip to 2:15 to be seriously wowed.

To be fair, it’s not the first time she’s pulled out the dolphin impression out in public, but we’ll still continue to be impressed. Read more…

Old Taylor Swift is dead. May New Taylor Swift forever reign in terror

TwitterFacebook

Taylor Swift has been sorted into Slytherin, and she’s bringing a new banger to their house parties.

If the snake videos weren’t enough of a clue, Taylor’s enemies have driven her to a poisonous place — or so she’d have us believe. “Bad Blood” will go down as a bratty tiff compared to “Look What You Made Me Do,” a message from the all-new Taylor Swift, a first offering from Reputation that’s dripping with lethal venom.

“I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now,” she sarcastically snarls during the break. “Why? Oh! ‘Cause she’s dead!”

RIP sunny, lovelorn Taylor. Long live dark, vengeful Taylor.  Read more…

Elon Musk says story about fired assistant is 'total nonsense'

TwitterFacebook

In the last couple of days, a story lifted from Ashlee Vance’s biography of Elon Musk has been making the rounds on the internet, claiming that Musk fired his assistant of 12 years when she wanted a raise.

The story portrays Musk as an unusually cruel (or extremely efficient, depending on your perspective) leader, but now Musk himself has taken to Twitter to explain that the story isn’t true.

The anecdote, originally published in Vance’s book Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, goes like this. Mary Beth Brown asked for a significant raise after having worked as Musk’s assistant for 12 years. Musk responded by asking Brown to take two weeks’ leave to see whether she’s really indispensable to him. After he’d realized she’s not, he promptly fired her.  Read more…

How a gang of celebrity moms is helping make sure families don't have to choose between diapers and food

TwitterFacebook

Earlier this month, Kerry Washington tweeted a video about dirty diapers to her 4.6 million followers.

The minute-long clip featured the Scandal star and mom of two talking not about her infant son, but about the fact that too many parents can’t afford diapers and have to choose between them and other essentials like food and medicine.

“It’s a crime that that would be true, that you would have to choose between feeding your kid or changing their diaper,” Washington says.

I’m so proud to support @Baby2Baby | @attndotcom. No parent should have to choose between feeding their child or changing their diaperpic.twitter.com/NyZ2diNmdH

TwitterFacebook

Look, we’re not saying there’s any wrong time to announce that you’ve brought two literal snowballs into the family, but right after news that Beyoncé’s twins were born is an interesting choice.

Especially if, like Kim Kardashian, you’re rumored to have some bad blood with Queen Bey. And yet, here’s Kim K (who has often expressed disinterest in pets because they’re filthy) posting pictures of puppies on Twitter when everyone’s freaking about about the Jay Z and Beyoncé’s twins.

So North wants to name her puppy Mercy, thoughts? We need a good name!

Kristen Stewart says text messages are kinda ghosts and who are we to argue?

TwitterFacebook

In a way, Kristen Stewart texts you every single day just to see how you’re doing. And in another, actually real way, your relationship with Kristen Stewart is completely in your head but still yours to keep.

The actress, who is promoting her new film about a girl haunted by her brother’s ghost, Personal Shopper, thinks text messages and social media are pretty much just that — your projections. And that’s fine.

“When you speak to someone on the phone, that is a decipherable, understandable exchange,” she explains to V Magazine. “But with text and social media, it’s essentially a dialogue with yourself and your interpretation of a shadow. It’s not invalid; it’s a new language.” Read more…
