Relax, everyone. These pictures prove royals have taken selfies before.

TwitterFacebook

Everyone knows a life of royalty comes with certain sacrifices, but rest assured, taking selfies is likely not one of them.

*wipes sweat from brow and breathes sigh of relief*

A recent Twitter Moment titled, “Royals can’t take selfies says Meghan as she steps out with Harry” unnecessarily shook people up on a Friday. It focused on a tweet from The Mirror’s royals correspondent, which noted Meghan Markle told a fan she wasn’t “allowed” to take selfies at an event in Nottingham.

Meghan is learning the royal ropes already, telling one couple who asked for a selfie in Nottingham today: “We’re not allowed to do selfies.”

MSNBC trolls Donald Trump with Obama ‘Merry Christmas’ montage

TwitterFacebook

According to Donald Trump, Donald Trump is solely responsible for coining the term “fake news,” Making America Great Again, and of course, bringing the phrase “Merry Christmas” back into the White House.

On Wednesday, Donny T. delivered a tax reform speech in St. Charles, Missouri, that started and ended with a focus on Christmas. Trump bragged and bragged about how he is the one bringing Christmas back to America, acting as though former presidents straight-up banned the holiday from the calendar or something.

MSNBC decided to investigate his claims, and believe it or not, it turns out Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, did in fact have those two words in his vocabulary. Can you imagine? Read more…

It would've been a good idea to run this pool float design by a woman first

TwitterFacebook

Well, at least it’s not absorbent.

In the latest of designs that should’ve been checked before getting manufactured, a pool float has gone viral, thanks to looking like it belongs in a feminine hygiene aisle.

The photo was initially shared on Reddit, but also got plenty of attention when it was shared by author Jillian David on Twitter Monday, who said this could’ve been avoided with a focus group of women.

Fair enough: because it resembles a giant maxi pad.

You can write hit songs like the Chainsmokers if you follow this snarky video's instructions

TwitterFacebook

The Chainsmokers have been blowing up the music scene with the kind of songs that get stuck in your head immediately and permanently, even if you don’t know half the words.

But it turns out that all successful Chainsmokers songs have a pretty formulaic construction, and YouTuber John Fassold is letting everyone in on the secret. You basically pick three chords, pick a noun, and you are on your way to stardom.

Fassold not only hits it right on the head, but he also includes some sample songs about Febreeze and Tide detergent. And they really do sound like they’ll be the next big hit. Read more…

Tina Fey has a message for all the college-educated white women that voted

TwitterFacebook

Tina Fey isn’t one to mince words—and she had some very important things to say on Friday night.

The comedian took part in the American Civil Liberties (ACLU) Facebook Live telethon, fundraising alongside Amy Poehler, Tom Hanks, and more for the organization. During the nearly four-hour-long broadcast, Fey took the opportunity to speak to Donald Trump supporters—and specifically, to the college-educated white women voters among them.

“A lot of this election was turned by white, college-educated women who now would like to forget about this election and go back to watching HGTV,” the actress said during an interview with Donna Lieberman and Louise Melling of the ACLU.   Read more…

All the things 'Parks and Recreation' got right and wrong about 2017

TwitterFacebook

It’s been more than two years since the last Parks and Recreation episode aired, but thanks to Netflix, the show is still as beloved as ever. If you believe hard enough, you can trick yourself into thinking the show is never over.

And thanks to Netflix, we were recently were engaging in our 40th watch-through of this great show (it’s kind of always just on loop) when we remembered something — the last season of the show was set in 2017.

For the entirety of Parks and Rec prior to the last season, the show took place concurrently with the present reality. However, in a bold twist, the very last episode of Season 6 ended with a fast-forward three years into not only Leslie and crew’s future, but our collective future as well. Read more…

Celebrities are weighing in on the United Airlines legging mess

TwitterFacebook

When two young girls were barred from boarding a United Airlines flight because they were wearing leggings (an apparent dress code violation on the airline), the internet went nuts.

Activist Shannon Watts first tweeted about the situation on Sunday morning, and since then, everyone from Chrissy Teigen to William Shatner weighed in on leggings-gate with hilarious and insightful remarks.

I have flown united before with literally no pants on. Just a top as a dress. Next time I will wear only jeans and a scarf.

Trump tried to share a proverb for St. Patrick's Day and it didn't go very well

TwitterFacebook

After an Ireland-centric day including meetings with its Prime Minster Enda Kenny, Donald Trump attempted to bestow some wisdom by sharing his favorite proverb of “many years.”

Only, as Twitter users quickly pointed out, it wasn’t a proverb. And it wasn’t Irish.

“As we stand together with our Irish friends, I’m reminded of that proverb—and this is a good one, this is one I like. I’ve heard it for many many years and I love it,” Trump said.

“Always remember to forget the friends that proved untrue but never forget to remember those that have stuck by you,” he said. “A lot of us know that, we know it well,” he added. “It’s a great phrase.” Read more…
