Canada’s recent marijuana legalization is set to bring a wave of economic benefits.

While the country’s government is set to benefit from taxes, and the cannabis industry is sure to grow, the policy has already done wonders for a Girl Guide in Edmonton.

Elina Childs, 9, sold C$120 worth of sandwich cookies and mint thins to a line of people waiting to buy legal marijuana at Nova Cannabis on Wednesday, as reported by CBC. 

It took her less than 45 minutes to sell all 30 boxes, compared to how slow it was selling cookies to people in her neighborhood. Read more…

Judge praises drug dealer's business model, although obviously quite illegal

We often like to cast criminals as dumb, but one illegal operation has really impressed a judge.

20-year-old Brodie Gary Satterley from Maroochydore, Australia, was sentenced to three years’ jail with immediate parole, and was also praised for his business skills in court, according to Sunshine Coast Daily

Brisbane Supreme Court heard Satterley — who was 18 when he engaged in low-level drug dealing — charged interest on debts, gave price guides on product, discounts, and refunds when there were complaints.  Read more…

A #lifehack fooled police into thinking that a man had a sock full of meth in his car.

Ross Lebeau, 24, from Texas was pulled over for a routine traffic stop after he allegedly failed to use a turn signal on Dec. 5. After getting pulled over, the police noticed the distinct smell of cannabis in the car, and Lebeau admitted to having a bit of sticky icky on him. 

Deputies for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office then searched Lebeau’s vehicle, where they discovered a sock filled with what they believed to be methamphetamine in the car’s trunkAccording to a press release boasting the score, “a field test was conducted, and these ‘nuggets’ tested positive for methamphetamine.” Read more…
