'Game of Thrones' star weighs in on Dany and Jon's union: 'It's going to blow up in their faces'

TwitterFacebook

Davos Seaworth has basically been the lone voice of reason on Game of Thrones since his introduction in Season 2, graduating from advising the terminally stubborn Stannis Baratheon to advising the suicidally stubborn Jon Snow (aka Aegon Targaryen).

Both of those roles were pretty thankless, and now that Jon has decided to unite — politically and, um, physically — with Daenerys Targaryen (aka Jon’s aunt), life’s about to get a lot more difficult for everyone on Team Snowgaryen heading into the final season.

Mashable spoke to Ser Davos himself, Liam Cunningham, in the wake of the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale, to discuss his thoughts on Westeros’ newest incestuous power couple, who will survive Season 8, and whether we’ll finally get to see CleganebowlRead more…

What Jaime's big moment with Cersei means for 'Game of Thrones' Season 8

TwitterFacebook

Ah, Jaime Lannister. Longtime kingslayer, first-time queen betrayer.

Turns out that most of the biggest political maneuvers in Game of Thrones Season 7 finale were a farce. For all her apparent fear of the wight from beyond the Wall and waffling over whether or not to join the Great War, Cersei was full of it the whole dang time.

That was one of the bombshell revelations from the episode’s concluding sprint across Westeros: Cersei still gonna Cersei. She’s been a vile, duplicitous monster for seven straight seasons and, hey… she’s still got it!

Although she agreed to stand beside Dany, Jon, and their assembled forces to fight in the Great War, Cersei never intended to do anything of the sort. Instead, she sent punk rock pirate boytoy Euron Greyjoy off on a secret mission to retrieve the Golden Company mercenaries: 20,000 warriors — with elephants — who can defeat dragons, I guess? 9 key predictions for how 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 will end

TwitterFacebook

Warning: Contains plenty of spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7 so far, plus some inevitably wonky predictions for Sunday’s finale.

After many long months of waiting for Game of Thrones to come back on, I now have to contend with the horrible, horrible reality that it’s about to go away again.

Old Nan thinks she knows all about Winter, but we know what the Long Night really is: it’s those 10 sickeningly dragon-free months before Season 8 finally gets here.

But enough of all that. The fact is we still have one deliciously long episode still to go. So rather than waste time worrying about next Monday, let’s focus on those sweet, sweet predictions. Read more…

Next episode of 'Game of Thrones' leaked online, courtesy of HBO Spain

TwitterFacebook

It turns out you don’t need hackers to spoil the next episode of Game of Thrones — HBO Spain is here for your needs!

This season’s episode 6, due to air Sunday, has leaked online after HBO Spain accidentally made it available to subscribers for an hour before it was removed.

Reddit user Kingrdgz posted a screenshot of the episode on /r/FreeFolk (SPOILERS!), a popular Game of Thrones discussion board that isn’t moderated. He even posted a 2 minute video from the leak (WARNING, SPOILERS!)

Other users in the thread shared links of the episode being livestreamed on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch. All the links have been removed at the time of publication.  Read more…

Cersei was channeling her inner Joffrey in this week's 'Game of Thrones' and it's TERRIFYING

TwitterFacebook

Nothing good can come of this.

Now that Daenerys (aka “The Mad King’s daughter”) has landed in Westeros, it’s safe to say that Cersei is feeling the heat of dragonbreath at her door.

Handily, she still has the reliably creepy Qyburn as her political fixer, and after facilitating the mass murder of several hundred rival nobles and priests at the Sept of Baelor last season, the disgraced former maester has come up with an equally subtle approach to help Cersei defeat Dany’s dragons, should they come knocking:

Watch Daenerys flying into battle in thrilling 'Game of Thrones' behind-the-scenes video

TwitterFacebook

No other TV show (and few films) can beat the spectacular special effects in Game of Thrones, and a new behind-the-scenes video shows us exactly what goes into bringing Westeros to life.

Sneakily, there’s some Season 6 footage spliced in with the Season 7 shots, which makes it hard to tell which visual effects are old and which are new — but the video does feature Daenerys Targaryen riding one of her dragons into battle against a greenscreen backdrop, and judging by her costume, this is part of her battle against the Lannister army, which was previewed in the Season 7 trailer and this photo of a dragon roasting some unwitting Lannister soldiers.   Read more…
