Ariana Grande and James Corden survive a terrifying escape room

TwitterFacebook

Ariana Grande is super into Halloween, haunted houses, and escape rooms, so James Corden invited the pop star to a combination of the three.

As an addition to The Late Late Show‘s “Carpool Karaoke” segment with Grande, Corden decided to book a session at 60OUT Escape Rooms in Los Angeles, picking the horror themed room.

It looks downright terrifying, and Grande spends the entire time being understandably beside herself.

“That’s not an escape room, that’s one of the seven gates to hell,” she said.

At least know we know how she injured her hand — running away from whatever the hell that is in the clip. Read more…

Entire cast of ‘Thor’ puts on a budget live play for unsuspecting moviegoers

TwitterFacebook

Just for laughs, James Corden stuck the entire star-studded cast of Thor in a cardboard budget, school play version of the hit movie.

The Late Late Show host sprung the surprise on a bunch of (very lucky) unsuspecting moviegoers, interrupting the movie minutes into the beginning. Corden then brought out each member of the cast in their movie roles, starting with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, before introducing Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, and Mark Ruffalo to the stunned audience.

While it’s incredible to see the Hollywood stars in the very budget version of their movie, it’s even more amazing that they didn’t seem to crack up while acting the whole thing out. Read more…

Here's the first 6 minutes of the 'Carpool Karaoke: The Series' premiere

TwitterFacebook

James Corden’s mega-popular segment now has an Apple flavor.

You can catch the first six minutes of the premiere episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series, which released on Tuesday night, as part of a 16-episode season for Apple Music.

Will Smith is the first guest, and they open with a rendition of “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It.” Then they get into a very over-the-top version of “Boom! Shake The Room,” while also discussing if Smith would ever play Barack Obama.

There’s also a teaser of other hosts and guests, such Gwyneth Paltrow (an easy choice, given she’s in another of Apple’s shows, Planet of the Apps), Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner from Game of Thrones, and Billy Eichner singing it out with Metallica, of all people. Read more…

James Corden delivers an emotional tribute to the people of Manchester

TwitterFacebook

James Corden was in the midst of taping The Late Late Show when he received news of the deadly explosion at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

So the television host recorded an extra segment to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the disaster, even though details of the attack were still scant at the time.

“It shocks me every time we hear this sort of news that attacks like this can happen. But especially when there will be so many children at this concert tonight,” said Cordon, who was visibly emotional as he shared his love for the city of Manchester, and its inimitable spirit. Read more…

Rupert Grint keeps being mistaken for Ed Sheeran

TwitterFacebook

Having starred in one of the best-known film franchises of all time, Rupert Grint probably gets approached quite a bit.

The problem? Apparently only 50% of those people actually know who he is. The other half think he’s Ed Sheeran.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show, Grint spoke about the fans — including some famous ones — who’ve confused him with the singer.

He’s not alone, at least. At the end of the clip, Sir Patrick Stewarts chips in to say people are forever confusing him with Sir Ben Kingsley. Read more…

James Corden brutally tears apart that Britney Spears biopic

TwitterFacebook

The internet called and James Corden responded.

The topic: that Britney Spears biopic, Britney Ever After, that left excruciated viewers in shock and despair.

During The Late Late Show, Corden ripped apart the TV movie sharing many concerns that Britney fans had poured on Twitter — from the ridiculous casting, cheesy dialogue and atrocious costume design.

“The role of Britney Spears was played by none other than the Australian actress Natasha Bassett,” he said.  “She’s the perfect person for a biopic ― if the biopic was about Tiffany Trump.”  Read more…

In fairness to James Corden, he is a pretty good singer.

But when it comes to a competitive head-to-head with former American Idol runner-up and current Queen frontman Adam Lambert, though, he’s got his work cut out for him.

Luckily, the two manage to put their differences aside at the end for a glorious rendition of “Somebody to Love”.

We’d totally go and watch that.
