Small child stuck inside vending machine is the definition of instant regret

TwitterFacebook

When it comes to getting their hands on toys, small children can be pretty darn determined.

During a recent trip to a play centre in Nenagh, Ireland, Damien Murphy’s 3-year-old son proved exactly how determined.

Murphy broke down exactly what happened in a nice, succinct Facebook post.

Here’s another angle:

And here’s a bigger version of the video:

Oh dear.

Murphy’s son eventually managed to escape, the Daily Edge reports, after he was advised by an off-duty fireman to crawl out the way he’d crawled in.

At least he got two stuffed green dragons out of it. Read more…

See the Sistine Chapel like never before in this detailed new photo project

TwitterFacebook

It’s all in the details.

The Sistine Chapel can now be viewed from a whole new perspective, thanks to a digital photo project that has captured every minute detail of the building.

270,000 photographs were taken during the five-year project, capturing everything from Michaelangelo’s frescoes to the building’s mosaic floor.

Image: Getty Images

Photographers used a 10-metre-high portable scaffold and special telescopic lens in order to capture the images (which are not pictured). The photos are now stored in a Vatican server holding 30 terabytes of information.  Read more…

When 10-year-old Ellie realized that her grandmother Rita wouldn’t be able to attend her birthday party due to health concerns, she considered canceling it all together. But her mother Kimber (who asked Mashable to omit her last name) came up with a better solution: bring the party to granny’s nursing home.

In December, Kimber and Ellie brought their family and friends to the Tennessee nursing home to surprise Rita with an invite to the little girl’s Alice in Wonderland-themed party, ABC News reports.

Amidst the chaos brought on by President Donald Trump’s maybe illegal executive decision to block immigration from several Muslim-majority countries, first daughter Ivanka Trump wants the internet to check out her dress.

On Friday, Trump signed an executive order that instituted a 90-day travel ban for citizens from seven predominantly Muslim nations, a 120-day suspension on U.S. entry for all refugees, and more specifically, an indefinite ban on Syrian refugees hoping to escape civil war.

In the wake of this decision, protesters have gathered at airports around the country to voice anger over Trump’s decision and to show support for travelers currently detained due to the sudden change in policy.  Read more…

The Women’s March on Washington has taken solidarity to a whole other level.

On Saturday, the peaceful protest, which took place in Washington D.C. one day after Donald Trump became the country’s 45th President, inspired a global movement, leading to marches in 160 cities across 60 countries.

All across the world, people stood in unity for a chance to have their voices heard; to fight for their beliefs, values and equality; and to give a big old “screw you” to President Trump.

With the United States at the heart of it all, an overwhelming number of Americans flooded the streets, taking over their cities and making a powerful statement. Read more…

LAS VEGAS — Amid the chaos of International CES, a small sex tech company called OhMiBod is working to shine a light on the sometimes forgotten space of female-oriented sex tech.

One of the first companies to build a connected sex toy, the brand offers app-controlled vibrators and sexual health devices.

At the 2016 CES, OhMiBod won Engadget‘s Best of CES Award in Health and Wellness for its Lovelife Krush, a connected device for kegel exercises that doubles as a vibrator. For Suki and Brian Dunham, the husband-and-wife duo behind the company, the award was more than just a marker of success. It was also a sign that the tech industry was finally taking women-oriented sex tech seriously.  Read more…
