‘SNL’ takes Roy Moore to task with some Alabama sensibility, courtesy of Kate McKinnon

TwitterFacebook

Another week, another 34,989 sexual assault and harassment stories in the news (that’s an official number). On Saturday night, Saturday Night Live tackled the highly icky report that Alabama Republican senatorial candidate Roy Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a minor with the man whose seat he’s filling: Jeff Sessions.

This week’s cold open started with a sensible Vice President Mike Pence (Beck Bennett) counseling Judge Moore (Mikey Day) on the best course of action. His counsel: Stepping aside isn’t the worst thing in the world, if you look at it the right way.

Jason Aldean surprises 'SNL' with Tom Petty 'Won't Back Down' tribute to Las Vegas

TwitterFacebook

Saturday Night Live has always taken great care to strike the right tone after tragedy, and this week’s episode managed to delicately address a terrible week on multiple levels, but with a single, thoughtful stroke.

Instead of a cold open mocking the Donald Trump administration — breaking what must have been some kind of record streak — the first face we saw was that of country singer Jason Aldean, about to make his first public performance since leaving the stage last Sunday as the shooting rampage in Las Vegas began last Sunday night.

Yes, Vladimir Putin has gone shirtless again to remind you of his dad bod power

TwitterFacebook

You already know that the golfing, TV watching, Twitter-obsessed U.S. president is on vacation, but you might not have known that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is on vacation, too.

Luckily for you, we just got our hands on Putin’s vacay photos, and they’re full of spymaster-in-the-Siberian-tundra cheesecake.

In photos released by the Kremlin on Saturday, Putin is shown going on a fishing trip with a few friends.

The first photo (above) is innocent enough, showing the Russian leader steering a boat through the Siberian waters. And look at all those layers. Since it’s not that cold in the Republic of Tuva (where the fishing trip occurred) this time of year, things probably got steamy pretty fast.  Read more…

SNL just came up with a hilarious version of Alexa designed for senior citizens

While the White House was definitely the focus of tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live, the show managed to fit in a great sketch on Amazon’s Alexa. The sketch was an advertisement for a (faux) device called Alexa Silver, touted as the only smart speaker built specifically for “the greatest generation“.
The device’s main feature? It’s super loud and… Read More

Watch Chris Pine's sexy lip sync battle on 'Saturday Night Live'

TwitterFacebook

Saturday Night Live taught the world tonight that hunky superhero tough guy Chris Pine can sing

But apparently he can lip sync, too.

Pine, Bobby Moynihan, and a few other SNL regulars play grease monkeys coming to terms with their love of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The hammer comes down, though, when the conversation shifts to Lip Sync Battle. Pine challenges Moynihan, and, well, IT’S ON.

Fortunately for the viewing public, the battle, featuring a lip sync to an Erika Jayne song (she’s apparently a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills!), ended with some delightful booty shaking by Pine. And, I mean, Moynihan too, but Pine. Read more…

Watch Scarlett Johansson skewer Ivanka Trump in 'SNL' perfume ad

TwitterFacebook

Sexy Amber. Bombshell. Mademoiselle. With perfumes like these, you can smell like anything you want.

And if you’re Ivanka Trump, you can smell “Complicit.”

Statuesque blonde host Scarlett Johansson was a dead ringer for statuesque blonde first daughter Trump in Saturday Night Live‘s spoof perfume ad, which featured Johansson walking through a gilded room with a gaggle of women admiring her — at first.

“A woman like her deserves a fragrance all her own,” the seductive voiceover says. “Because she’s beautiful. She’s powerful. She’s…’Complicit.'” Read more…

Cheetos ad meeting on 'SNL' mocks marketing in the age of Trump

Donald Trump isn’t ever mentioned by name in this Saturday Night Live sketch about a pitch meeting with Cheetos, but his presence looms large.

Riffing on Lumber 84’s political Super Bowl LI commercial — which delivered a strong message on the importance of an immigrant workforce — the SNL bit mulls the thought process behind politically motivated advertising. Are companies concerned about the issues or do they just see politics as another marketing tool?

Leslie Jones dreams of playing Donald Trump.

The Saturday Night Live star knows that Alec Baldwin has the gig locked down. But that won’t stop her from trying, or from destroying the office of SNL creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels.

Leslie Jones lost it when she impersonated Samuel L. Jackson on 'SNL'

You’d think Saturday Night Live‘s Super Bowl-centric “Celebrity Family Feud” sketch would have been ripe for political humor, given the Trump vs. Atlanta narrative that has surfaced.

As it turns out, not so much! The real stars of this sketch are Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, as Justin Bieber and Samuel L. Jackson, respectively. McKinnon is her typically over-the-top self — a perfect fit for the Biebs — and Jones breaks hard as she channels Jackson’s profanity-laden tirades.

Beck Bennett also gets a thumbs up as straight man and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who seems to still harbor a grudge after Deflategate. Read more…

'SNL' asks Trump about 'big Russian pee-pee parties' in first cold open of 2017

Https%3a%2f%2fblueprint-api-production.s3.amazonaws.com%2fuploads%2fcard%2fimage%2f348876%2f8ec9d6a1-c30f-4438-88fd-e3c9bfd7d55e

As if they needed a setup beyond the “failing pile of garbage” that’s been the last few weeks of current events, Saturday Night Live took on President-elect Donald Trump’s controversial press conference last week — and unsubstantiated reports of his “big Russian pee-pee party” — for its first cold open of the new year.

And just like that much-maligned newser, the sketch did not disappoint.

Alec Baldwin braved the inevitable oncoming Trump Twitter tirade to reprise his role as the president-in-waiting, touting Trump’s star-studded inauguration lineup, including “Jackie what’s-her-face” from America’s Got Talent and — hold onto your tits and bits — THREE. DOORS. DOWN.  Read more…
