The first draft of that steamed hams script from ‘The Simpsons’ was excellent too

TwitterFacebook

So, the steamed hams skit in The Simpsons’ “22 Short Films About Springfield” is a pretty hot meme right now.

Also known as “Skinner & The Superintendent,” the scene featuring Superintendent Chalmers and Principal Skinner is one of the show’s funniest, but has landed an extra bit of comedic oomph thanks to the plethora of remixes by people on the internet.

In case you haven’t been keeping up, here’s the steamed hams skit performed to a custom Guitar Hero song, for some reason.

Or this guy who hasn’t seen The Simpsons before, so he improvises the whole scene in one take. Read more…

Seth MacFarlane seemed to hint about the Kevin Spacey allegations back in 2005

TwitterFacebook

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane seems to know a lot more than he gives off.

Following the allegations of sexual assault and harassment against Harvey Weinstein, a clip from the best supporting actress Oscar nominations in 2013 went viral.

MacFarlane made an awkward joke about the nominees, and congratulated them because they “no longer have to be pretend to be attracted” to Weinstein.

Now in the wake of accusations that Kevin Spacey made sexual advances toward actor Anthony Rapp when Rapp was 14 years old, another clip is making the rounds on social media.  Read more…

Jimmy Kimmel tears apart his critics on health care bill

TwitterFacebook

Jimmy Kimmel isn’t taking your shit lying down.

On Tuesday night, Kimmel went to town on the Graham-Cassidy bill — proposed by Republican senators Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy — for failing the “Jimmy Kimmel test.”

In the monologue, Kimmel said Cassidy “lied right to my face” when he appeared on the show in May, where the senator promised coverage for kids like Kimmel’s son who was born with congenital heart disease.

In the day after Kimmel’s outburst on the bill, politicians and television personalities lined up to criticise the talk show host. Like Cassidy, who accused Kimmel of not understanding the bill, when talking to CNN‘s Chris Cuomo on Wednesday morning.   Read more…

'SNL' says goodbye to Bobby Moynihan with one more Drunk Uncle for the road

TwitterFacebook

Only one SNL character could possibly be interested in Making America Drunk Again.

After nine seasons on SNL, Bobby Moynihan did his last show on Saturday, and of course Drunk Uncle stopped by “Weekend Update” to talk about Donald Trump.

He said some stuff but … pfffffthbbllltlbt.

Moynihan took on many roles during his long SNL tenure — he was Chris Christie during the campaign — but his rambling, blubbering take on everyone’s least intelligible relative will be the one for which he’s best remembered. Read more…

New Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote is a big improvement over the previous model

We have Apple TV, Roku, and TiVo but I haven’t used them in months. We use our Fire TV Stick for everything, because it just seems to work more smoothly (the Apple TV is the worst of the bunch), also we are Amazon Prime subscribers, so we get a lot of free shows (like the excellent Z, about Zelda Fitzgerald, starring Christina Ricci).

Recently Amazon introduced the new Fire TV Stick, which is better in many ways than the old version. It has Alexa voice control built into the remote, so you can just ask it to play or search for a show. The new processor makes it run faster that the old version. It also has better WiFi.

I’m going to bring the old one with me when I travel.

Tom Hiddleston voiced a 'Planet Earth II' trailer and it's just very important

TwitterFacebook

We know he’s great at reading poems, and now Tom Hiddleston has lent his voice acting talents to Planet Earth II, soothingly reminding us that we share a planet with awful humans, but also some pretty dope animals.

What’s that you say, Tommy? Something about love? Monkeys steal things? Does climate change concern you? I hear pain in that perfect elocution, and I want to heal it with cuddly sloths.

Planet Earth II premieres on BBC America Feb. 18.

Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone made an appearance on the haloed Ellen DeGeneres Show and didn’t disappoint.

Padukone, who starred with Vin Diesel in her debut Hollywood flick, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, on being quizzed by Ellen about rumored link-ups with the actor, said, “Well, there’s no smoke without fire.”

When a startled Ellen pressed further, she added, “But, it’s all in my head! So yeah, I mean in my head I think, like yeah, we are together and we have this amazing chemistry, and we live together and we have these amazing babies! But it’s all in my head.” Read more…

Bollywood actress and Quantico lead Priyanka Chopra has done it again!

She’s bagged her second consecutive People’s Choice Award winning ‘Favorite Dramatic TV Actress’ over Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and popular Hollywood face Viola Davis.

Last year, PC, as she’s popularly known, had bagged the ‘Favorite Actress in a New TV Series’ award for her hit ABC show, becoming the first South Asian woman to receive the honor. She plays an FBI agent, Alex Parrish, in Quantico.

An “overwhelmed” PC said in her acceptance speech, “This has been an incredible journey. Every single woman that were nominated with me today, all these incredible actresses are the reason that I joined television.” Read more…

'SNL' asks Trump about 'big Russian pee-pee parties' in first cold open of 2017

As if they needed a setup beyond the “failing pile of garbage” that’s been the last few weeks of current events, Saturday Night Live took on President-elect Donald Trump’s controversial press conference last week — and unsubstantiated reports of his “big Russian pee-pee party” — for its first cold open of the new year.

And just like that much-maligned newser, the sketch did not disappoint.

Alec Baldwin braved the inevitable oncoming Trump Twitter tirade to reprise his role as the president-in-waiting, touting Trump’s star-studded inauguration lineup, including “Jackie what’s-her-face” from America’s Got Talent and — hold onto your tits and bits — THREE. DOORS. DOWN.  Read more…

The Simpsons, a show that has been on for approximately 75 years (didn’t double check but that feels right), has finally revealed the make and model of Homer’s classic pink sedan.

Finally, academics of the world can end the decades-long desperate search for this information.

In the Jan. 8 episode, titled “Pork and Burns,” a car wash employee refers to Homer’s car as a 1986 Plymouth Junkerola.

The pink sedan, Homer’s often horrendously damaged and inexplicably-repaired-the-next-week car, has been a point of debate amongst Simpsons fanatics for years. Read more…

Andy Cohen, everyone’s favorite bubbly and outspoken talk show host, has no time for snitches.

While the man behind the Real Housewives franchise clearly loves a good dose of drama, he definitely doesn’t appreciate leaks about the Housewives reunion shows.

In a recent New York Times profile on the cool Watch What Happens Live host, a fun anecdote revealed that leaks to press were coming from none other than members of the hair and makeup crew.

But don’t worry, Andy handled it.

Explaining the intense secrecy behind the Season 7 Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion show taping in October 2016, New York Times writer Taffy Brodesser-Akner revealed that Cohen, the reunion-show mediator, realized the leaks were coming from the beauty teams. Read more…

Facebook has a sharing problem. A year ago data revealed that Facebook users were posting “fewer things about their personal lives for their friends to see,” The Information reported.

What was once a place where people shared what they were up to (ex. “Kerry Flynn … is doing homework”) or made plans on someone else’s wall (ex. “party tonight?”) has morphed into an algorithmic feed surfacing fake news and pornographic live videos

While those Facebook “likes” are leading to strong ad targeting and videos are raking in views, once-active users are turning to share their own memories on rival apps like Snapchat.  Read more…
