BTS danced their feelings out in an adorably dorky game

BTS danced their feelings out in an adorably dorky game

K-pop phenomenon BTS has been absolutely dominating the charts, shattering records with their bubbly English-language hit “Dynamite.” Yet behind their slick stage performances the Bangtan Boys are just a group of seven dorky, adorable goofballs — a side they got to show off in a game of Dance Your Feelings on The Tonight Show.

RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook joined Jimmy Fallon in attempting to convey various feelings and situations through dance, ranging from joy to surprise to “your jacket getting stuck in the car door.” There was also quite a bit of screaming, with Jin unable to contain his feelings about “watching Netflix for 5 hours and getting a dead leg.” Read more…

BTS’ “Dynamite” performance with The Roots is the best remix yet

BTS'

Global supergroup BTS kicked off an entire week of Tonight Show appearances today, performing their English-language bop “Dynamite” with host Jimmy Fallon and The Roots. There’s been no shortage of official “Dynamite” remixes, from the Tropical remix to the EDM remix to the Acoustic remix. Even so, the addition of The Roots’ beatboxing makes this one of the best “Dynamite” mixes yet.

Framed by brightly-coloured backgrounds and rocking some retro flares, BTS’ RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook grooved out to their No. 1 hit while The Roots accompanied them on instruments and percussion. The sunny, optimistic performance also displayed each BTS member’s name next to them, a very Ed Sullivan Show move which should help out all the new fans the K-pop group has been picking up. BTS and Jimmy Fallon playing party games is silly, chaotic fun

BTS and Jimmy Fallon playing party games is silly, chaotic fun

Monday’s episode of the Tonight Show saw K-pop group BTS join Jimmy Fallon for a round of Subway Olympics, playing several games that probably won’t appear in the real Olympics any time soon. These included Protect the Duck, in which players attempted to knock a rubber duck off each other’s hand, and Dance Your Shades and Gloves Off, which was exactly what it sounds like.

It was predictably chaotic, with J-Hope accidentally slapping Jin in the face at one point, but it wouldn’t be BTS playing games without some silly antics. There was even a bit of cheeky cheating, with Jimin sneakily sticking Post-Its on Jungkook well after time was up. Read more…

Justin Bieber skated circles around Jimmy Fallon in a hockey shootout

Justin Bieber skated circles around Jimmy Fallon in a hockey shootout

Justin Bieber joined Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show to introduce him hockey: Canada’s most sacred tradition next to apologising profusely to the cashier at Tim Hortons.

Bieber showed off some impressive skills on the ice, demonstrating some quick drills and dragging a wobbly Fallon across the rink. The singer also demonstrated how to do a backhand shot, which the two practiced alongside backhanded compliments before their shootout.

“Have you lost weight?” Bieber asked. “You look a lot better than the last time I’d seen you.”

The result of their competition was very much a forgone conclusion, but it did give Bieber the opportunity to belt out “O Canada” as he took a victory lap on a Zamboni. Read more…

This Andy Samberg and Jimmy Fallon song about guys who love kicking sure is a thing

This Andy Samberg and Jimmy Fallon song about guys who love kicking sure is a thing

The Lonely Island‘s Andy Samberg joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to sing about the joys of high kicking. Kicking the air, kicking walls, kicking cars — their soles don’t discriminate. However, as much joy as flinging their feet into the air brings them, it isn’t without its drawbacks.

“As you can see, we clearly love to kick,” sings Fallon. “But it’s had a negative impact on relationships.”

“Girls see us kicking then ask us to leave,” continues Samberg. “Got fired from Foot Locker for kicking my boss Steve.” Read more…

Robert Downey Jr. and Jimmy Fallon are terrible medicine salesmen in even worse wigs

Robert Downey Jr. and Jimmy Fallon are terrible medicine salesmen in even worse wigs

“If your erection lasts more than four hours, that has nothing to do with Zynerma. But congratulations.”

On Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, incumbent Dr. Dolittle Robert Downey Jr. joined the host to make an ad for a fake allergy medicine. And thank goodness it isn’t real. Zynerma sounds like a truly terrible product, carrying side effects such as “slacks, premature fatherhood” and “hat failure.”

Dressed like religious cult members with Tribbles atop their heads, Downey and Fallon each took turns reading their lines off cue cards — lines they apparently hadn’t seen before filming. Read more…

John Mulaney thinks mistletoe deserves to be cancelled

John Mulaney thinks mistletoe deserves to be cancelled

On Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the host invited tall child John Mulaney to give his knee-jerk opinions on a series of seasonal subjects, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, fingerless gloves, and mistletoe.

“Mistletoe. If any decoration needs to be Me Too’ed…” declared Mulaney on the “perverted garnish.”

His strong reaction surprised and delighted Fallon, who said he’d never heard his guest raise his voice before. “It’s an upsetting garnish,” Mulaney insisted, which is fair.

The high-waisted man also summed up the horrible trashfire goblin decade that was the 2010s with an incredibly apt airport anecdote, in which he saw a passenger and TSA agent arguing. Read more…

Emilia Clarke has revealed the true culprit behind the ‘Game of Thrones’ coffee cup

Game of Thrones may have ended, but the rivalry between Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark lives on.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show, dragon queen Emilia Clarke addressed Sophie Turner’s implication that she was behind the infamous coffee cup that appeared in Game of Thrones‘ final season.

The Queen of the North had pointed the finger at Clarke when she spoke to Fallon back in May. However Clarke has claimed innocence, and is now accusing Conleth Hill, who played Varys, of being the true culprit – an accusation backed by some pretty compelling evidence.

“It was Conleth’s coffee cup! He said so!” Clarke exclaimed to Fallon. “He’s like, ‘I think it was, I’m sorry darling, I didn’t want to say anything ’cause it seemed, you know, the heat was very much on you,’ and I was like, ‘WHAT!?'” Read more…

Watch John Cena and Jimmy Fallon play Fish Slap, which is exactly what it sounds like

WWE wrester and professional meme John Cena appeared on Sunday’s episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to help introduce a new segment called Fish Slap. It was exactly what it sounds like.

In Fish Slap, a game invented by Cena’s opponent Fallon because apparently he loves to suffer, players take turns guessing if a card drawn from a deck will be higher or lower than the previous one. If they get it right, it becomes the other player’s turn to guess. If they get it wrong, they get a real, slimy, dead fish to the face.

It sounds like an awful time but the pair get into it, Cena joyfully proclaiming, “In the name of salmon and mackerel, the day is mine!” Read more…

Harrison Ford remembers his friend, Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew

TwitterFacebook

Harrison Ford has paid tribute to his longtime friend, the late great Peter Mayhew, who was known for playing Han Solo’s towering co-pilot, Chewbacca the Wookiee.

Talking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Thursday, the Star Wars actor said just a few words about his friend, who passed away on May 3. Ford noted the quiet challenge Mayhew faced playing Chewbacca.

“He was a really sweet man, nice man, and he had a hard time physically. It was really hard for him to do what he did for us, what he did for all of us. And he did it with real dignity and class,” said Ford.

“He was a really neat guy. I miss him.” Read more…

Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg would also like to ‘Slow Jam the News’

TwitterFacebook

Pete Buttigieg is hoping to smooth his way to the presidency.

The mayor of South Bend dropped into The Tonight Show on Monday night, where he joined Jimmy Fallon for another edition of “Slow Jam the News,” in which he spent his time talking about his platform and what kind of president he’d aim to be.

Of course, the segment was made famous by Barack Obama, who did the slow jamming thing in the final months of his presidency back in 2016.

Buttigieg didn’t just talk over the sounds of a sleazy-sounding synthesizer, he also spoke to Fallon about his ambitions, and the fact that Trump compared Buttigieg to MAD magazine’s Alfred E. Neuman. Read more…

Jimmy Fallon plays that game he truly hates with a brave Kate Beckinsale

TwitterFacebook

Plunge your hands into a box and try to guess what’s inside it without looking. It’s a truly horrific concept for a game, one that’s generated plenty of fun times on The Tonight Show.

But Jimmy Fallon always gets pretty squeamish playing “Can You Feel It,” as do his guests. On Wednesday, the late night show host invited The Widow star Kate Beckinsale to play, and there was plenty of screaming (mainly on Fallon’s part).

“It’s sticky and wet. It’s a poo! It’s a huge poo!” Beckinsale said of some innocent cinnamon buns.

“I hate this game so much,” Fallon said, hesitantly putting his hands into earthworm-filled dirt. Read more…

World record holder Hugh Jackman demonstrates a record he didn’t quite break

TwitterFacebook

Apart from being Ryan Reynolds’ greatest all-time rival, Hugh Jackman is a Guinness World Record holder.

The Missing Link star dropped by The Tonight Show on Monday to trade jackets with Jimmy Fallon and talk world records.

Jackman holds the record for the longest career as a live action Marvel superhero: 16 years 228 days as X-Men‘s Wolverine — he shares the record with Patrick Stewart, who has played Professor Charles Xavier for the exact same amount of days.

But Jackman’s record isn’t the only title he’s tried for, as the star explained he and his brother clocked up many valiant attempts at Guinness glory — one of which is the most coins caught on one’s elbow.  Read more…

Julia Louis-Dreyfus thinks she’s a good liar. Jimmy Fallon finds out.

TwitterFacebook

You know what, Julia Louis-Dreyfus could sell us anything.

But we’re not so sure how she is effective is at selling a lie, however, as exemplified when she stepped into a round of “Box of Lies” with The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon on Thursday.

The Veep star is good fun, but boy, not so convincing when it comes to trying to dupe Fallon into thinking that she’s got a horse with a huge collection of sandals and high heels in front of her. Read more…

Jimmy Fallon gives a Weezer classic the barbershop quartet treatment

TwitterFacebook

Weezer‘s classic 1994 track “Buddy Holly” already threw back to the good ol’ days with its Happy Days-inspired music video.

But Jimmy Fallon took the song even further back in time with his barbershop quartet, The Ragtime Gals, on The Tonight Show.

Fallon always puts a little spin on his ragtime renditions, and Tuesday, the late night show host invited Weezer themselves to join the seven-piece a capella shindig.

“Buddy Holly” works incredibly well here, and sits up there with Fallon’s barbershop versions of Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” and Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.” Read more…

‘Aquaman’ star Jason Momoa challenges Jimmy Fallon to some casual trident throwing

TwitterFacebook

It might seem foolish to challenge Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman in the upcoming DC chapter, to a casual trident throwing challenge. But that didn’t stop Jimmy Fallon.

In the film, Aquaman is a master of the trident, and on The Tonight Show, Momoa absolutely nailed it, like he was casually playing darts in a friend’s basement. Highly impressive.

The target? Arch-villain Ocean Master, of course. Minus 20 points if you hit Nemo. Read more…

Ice-T discusses that whole thing about him never eating a bagel

TwitterFacebook

A few weeks ago, people caught wind of the fact that Ice-T had never eaten a bagel until Law and Order: SVU, when he was required to eat one. Right? Huge.

Ice-T and co-star Mariska Hargitay appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, where they were quizzed about the kerfuffle. For Ice-T, he just had to cop the bagel, although he didn’t actually swallow.

“On the show they wanted me to eat a bagel. I said I don’t eat bagels,” Ice-T replied. “But it was in the script, so you know I just did it. But I acted like I ate it, I didn’t eat it.”

The actor eventually did eat a bagel, explaining he recently filmed an ad for dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, where he well, didn’t enjoy it. “I ate one, I had one bite, and it felt like I ate a loaf of bread. Why would I eat an unsweetened donut?” he said. Read more…

Best pals ever Post Malone and Jimmy Fallon visit Olive Garden

TwitterFacebook

Jimmy Fallon has never been to Olive Garden.

Fortunately he’s in the safe hands of Post Malone, who is a big time fan of the Italian-American chain. The “Rockstar” rapper showed the late show host all the delights of Post Malone-style free breadsticks, which involves taking a bite and putting hunks of butter on it.

In a segment that’s apparently totally not an ad for Olive Garden, Fallon spent most of his time being shocked at how things like breadsticks and salad were free. “How do you guys make money?” he asked.

As per the Hollywood Reporter, when the pair finished filming, they headed over to an Irish pub where Post Malone got involved in a jam night. Sounds like quite the night out. Read more…

Shawn Mendes covers ‘Treat You Better’ with classroom instruments

TwitterFacebook

Jimmy Fallon’s classroom instrument covers are the stuff of legend, with the likes of the Backstreet Boys and Ed Sheeran giving those mini-xylophones a good tapping.

Joining the fray on Monday night was Shawn Mendes, whose 2016 hit “Treat You Better” just had to be covered by The Roots and Fallon in another edition of the segment.

Mendes, lucky for him, only needs his incredible voice and a set of silver spoons to deliver his performance. He makes it look so dang easy. Read more…

Watching Kevin Hart being afraid of a baby ostrich is pure joy

TwitterFacebook

Comedian Kevin Hart being scared of things is always funny.

He’s particularly frightened of random animals, even when it comes to something as cute as Robert Irwin’s baby ostrich, who makes an adorable chirping noise.

“You know what she’s saying. I want some little black man, and all of his brothers,” Hart said on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night.

In case you didn’t know, Hart has a bit of history with ostriches, something which he spoke about in 2009’s I’m A Grown Little Man when he was chased by one.

Hart is not so afraid of a falcon though, despite their frightful talons, managing to get close — if uncomfortably so. Read more…

Bored? Make a doo-wop song on an iPad like Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Jimmy Fallon

TwitterFacebook

Here’s a fun activity: Get two friends, a Looper app, and make a doo-wop song.

On Tuesday night, Jimmy Fallon dragged out live music looping app Loopy to create a doo-wop iPad masterpiece with powerhouse singers Queen Latifah and Kelly Clarkson.

Choosing classic tune “Earth Angel,” originally by ’50s group the Penguins, and popularized by Marvin Berry and The Starlighters in Back to the Future, the trio layer up some sweet, sweet harmonies, then some deep basslines, and a whole lot of bahp-bahps.

It’s damn delightful, and could be a pretty solid activity for your next bored night. Read more…

Daniel Radcliffe, perpetual good sport, reacts to Harry Potter memes

TwitterFacebook

Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t actively seek out Harry Potter memes, but that didn’t stop Jimmy Fallon from throwing a few his way.

The Harry Potter star, who is currently promoting his Broadway run in The Lifespan of a Fact, was a damn good sport on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, offering up genuine enthusiasm for meme after meme.

But one particularly generated a strong grin, the viral video of YouTube personality Kelsey Ellison at MCM London’s ComicCon, stupefying all with a casually fierce dance while dressed up as Hermione Granger.

“That is great. We need to remake the film as a musical,” said Radcliffe. Read more…

Glenn Close, far from her Cruella de Vil days, is covered in puppies

TwitterFacebook

Glenn Close was frightening as Cruella de Vil in the 1996 live-action film 101 Dalmatians.

Not these days. Close was covered in puppies on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, thanks to her superior general knowledge skills during another edition of “Pup Quiz.”

Close battled Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard in the segment on Monday night, picking up a whole heap of dang adorable goldendoodles along the way.

And boy, doesn’t she love it. Read more…

Jimmy Fallon on Trump’s tweet: ‘Shouldn’t he have more important things to do?’

TwitterFacebook

For the most part, Jimmy Fallon has tried to avoid being political on The Tonight Show. But he can’t avoid it when the politics come to him.

Following a tweet by Trump which told the late night show host to “be a man,” Fallon responded to the furore in the opening monologue of his show on Monday night.

“When I saw that Trump had insulted me on Twitter, I was going to tweet back immediately, but I had more important things to do,” Fallon joked. “Then I thought, wait, shouldn’t he have more important things to do? What are you doing? You’re the president. Why are you tweeting at me?”

Of course, Fallon isn’t the only late night show host that’s been in Trump’s firing line. Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert also received scorn from the president at a rally on Monday. Read more…

Jimmy Fallon pledges to march in student-led protest for gun control

TwitterFacebook

Jimmy Fallon will join March for Our Lives, a student-led protest for school safety and gun control, on March 24 in Washington, D.C.

The Tonight Show host addressed the shooting at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Monday night, in the first episode of the show since the tragic event.

Fallon took a moment to acknowledge those lost, and also the students who survived the shooting. “What they had to live through, and what they have to live with, is something that I can’t even imagine,” he said.

Fallon described the recent actions of these students, including the organisation of the march “unbelievable,” saying, “They’re speaking out with more guts, passion, conviction and common sense than most adults … They’re creating change. This is a real revolution.” Read more…

Jimmy Fallon fights back tears as he delivers powerful attack on Trump after Charlottesville

But this time, in the aftermath of the horrific events of this past weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, he might have delivered his most powerful, politically charged statement yet.

Falling somewhere between charades and the mannequin challenge, the brains behind The Tonight Show have come up with a new game for Jimmy Fallon and his guests to play: Humannequins.

Queen Latifah, Fred Armisen, Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne and Fallon himself got to awkwardly move each other’s body parts around in an attempt to depict the people, movie or thing written on their clue. It was surprisingly delightful watching Fallon force Armisen to his knees in an attempt to stage a “marriage proposal.”
