New ‘The King’s Man’ full trailer has more jokes, more knife-fighting, and more Black Sabbath

TwitterFacebook

Unlike the super serious teaser, the full trailer for The King’s Man wants you to know that this is still a comedy, OK?

The origin-story prequel for the Kingsman series — they’ve split the original film’s name into two separate words, just so it’s not confusing! — gives fans a better peek at Rhys Ifans (aka Spike from Notting Hill) as Rasputin, as Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton and Djimon Hounsou fight “tyrants and criminal masterminds” in the midst of World War I. The trailer also boasts a snarling soundtrack thanks to Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” and Fiennes trying to convince his team to try this newfangled thing called a parachute. Read more…

Full-length ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ trailer: more Arnie, more plot, more callbacks

TwitterFacebook

On Aug. 29, 1997, Skynet became self-aware. On Aug. 30, 2019, a new trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate became available. And as in the teaser released in May, it would very much like to emphasise that the Rise Of The Machines/Genisys/Salvation timeline is as dead as… well, all of humanity in the future.

If you’d like to be surprised, look away now, because this trailer is packed with details designed to reassure you that this is the Terminator franchise, classic flavour. We get Mackenzie Davis’s I-come-from-the-future exposition explaining that Sarah Connor did not, in fact, avert Judgement Day; Linda Hamilton’s Connor smirking and wisecracking like the apocalypse-averting veteran she is (complete with a callback I’d rather have been surprised by); and some absolutely wild-looking fight scenes — including a moment where Gabriel Luna’s evil new-model nanomorph appears to split itself into two separate humanoids. ‘Hustlers’ trailer gives us the J-Lo stripper heist movie we truly deserve

TwitterFacebook

When Jennifer Lopez asks if you’re in, you say yes. So get on board with this trailer for Hustlers, loosely based on a true story, about a group of strippers scheming to fleece their sleazy, loaded clients out of more than just a few fistfuls of dollar bills.

J-Lo plays the ringleader, telling her fellow dancers that “the game is rigged” — and hey, don’t the post-crash Wall Street bros and execs they’re targeting deserve a little retribution?

The heels are stacked and so is this cast: as well as Lopez, there’s Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu, Riverdale’s Lil Reinhart, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, current internet queen Lizzo, and Cardi B in her feature debut. The superstar (herself a former stripper) was cast after director Lorene Scafaria slid into her Instagram DMs. Read more…

A Bollywood movie trailer dropped last afternoon. It features a friendly ghost, a young man forced into marriage rituals, a bittersweet love story, and some rustic Indian music.

Within a day, the trailer crossed 10 million views on Facebook and YouTube combined. And Indians can’t stop raving about it.

An ’80s cop show revived for the 21st century — sound familiar?

Dax Shepard and Michael Peña channel strong 21 Jump Street vibes in the trailer for CHiPs, in which they play an odd couple of highway patrollers on a mission to take down dirty cops.

Shepard plays Jon Baker and Peña plays Frank “Ponch” Poncherello, an agent undercover with the California Highway Patrol. As with the CHiPs television series, which ran from 1977 to 1983, the film and trailer devote a lot of time to the tense partnership of Baker and Ponch.

The film adaptation is written and directed by Shepard, who promoted it on Ellen as early as 2015, when he showed up in full highway patrol uniform and spoke about his love of the original series.  Read more…

The musician shared the first trailer for XX, an all female-directed anthology of horror films that contains four spooky stories. Clark’s bit, The Birthday Party, marks the rockstar’s first time in the director’s chair. The film will be available in theaters and on demand (iTunes and Amazon video) on Feb. 17th.
