No matter how much we mature as individuals and evolve as a society, there’s one thing that will always, always be funny: people falling over.
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones managed to turn lemonade into a football-sized lemon during the third quarter of Thursday night’s face-off with the Philadelphia Eagles. With the Giants down 10-7, Jones held onto the ball at the snap and decided to run it himself.
Senator Lindsey Graham’s own words are being used against him, thanks to old videos recirculating on Twitter.
Graham is the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the cohort of senators who review judicial nominations. In the wake of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death, he’s facing pressure to reject any nominee chosen by Donald Trump to take Justice Ginsburg’s seat. Ginsburg was a progressive on a largely conservative court, and any nominee Trump puts forward is sure to be conservative as well.
In years past, Graham has repeatedly insisted that Supreme Court vacancies should remain vacant during election years so the next president has a chance to fill them. When President Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court to fill Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat in 2016, Graham led the opposition against the nomination. Read more…
A graph tracking unemployment in the United States somehow works with the iconic GameCube intro music. And seems to highlight our current state of dread with a surreal flair.
Last week, 6.6 million Americans, a 3000 percent increase, filed for unemployment as the coronavirus pandemic continued to devastate the economy. On Thursday, evolutionary anthropologist Dorsa Amir tweeted an animated graph that shows the massive jump alongside data from 1965 to earlier in the year. She also posted it on a data appreciation subreddit.
“We’re dealing with truly staggering numbers here,” Amir tweeted, emphasizing the jaw-dropping increase in unemployment so far. Read more…
Not all fruits are safe for dogs, but blueberries are perfectly fine. In fact, they’re a healthy, antioxidant-rich treat.
Unfortunately, this particular blueberry is on a glass table, and this dog is under it. She doesn’t seem to have quite grasped the concept of “glass,” though, and keeps swiping at the berry as if to scoop it out of the air.
It’s a tragedy, ultimately, but it’s still really cute. Read more…
Or you could just watch this video of a driverless airport catering cart spinning wildly out of control on the tarmac, endangering everyone around it as they stare in horror, unsure of how exactly to handle this unprecedented disaster in the making.
Dr Kevin Klauer took the video from the departures lounge at O’Hare Airport in Chicago, where he was waiting for a flight (on a different plane to the one pictured) when the commotion out the window caught his eye. Read more…
A Virgin America flight attendant had one more safety video dance before the brand disappears forever.
People were heartbroken last year when Alaska Airlines announced that it would phase out Virgin America’s brand by 2019. The company bought Virgin in a $2.6 billion merger in 2017, and promised to keep the “flair” that frequent fliers loved about Virgin, like its colorful mood lighting and upbeat loading music.
In case you didn’t know, the safety video is a total bop.
One flight attendant paid homage to Virgin’s brand — which seemed to embrace the complete opposite of what airlines are usually known for — by leading an enthusiastic dance to the flight safety video. Read more…
It’s been over two years since Pizza Rat taught us what it means to reach for the stars. It was 2015, a simpler time — one that you may be feeling nostalgic for even now.
And that’s why we know you’re going to watch this video of two rats battling for a french fry in the disgusting NYC subway. Come on, give it a try! It’s short, it’s fun, it’s dramatic. It even has a beginning, middle, and end.
A family with only the best intentions for their pet bird ended up making a very bad decision by letting it fly free into the world.
Maritza Sanchez tweeted a video on Thursday of her family releasing their pet parakeet into the wild. It’s unclear why they thought this was a good idea, but hey, maybe they were just sick of hearing a bird sing all day long.
Their dog had different ideas for the confused bird, which fell to the ground the moment it was released. Not even a second after the bird hit the ground, the dog grabbed it, and well, the bird is no longer with us. Read more…
Days where it’s hard to care about anything and you’re just barely holding on as life and the world around you just seems to keep going on without you. Days where you can barely muster the strength to get out of bed.
This video proves that kids are not immune to experiencing one of those days.
Ughhhhh, why can’t anything on the internet just be fun anymore?
You’ve probably seen the amazing video that went viral this morning of a man’s appearance on BBC being interrupted by his two hilarious children. It is pretty much the only good thing to happen on the internet in ages, and in this era of constant bad news we desperately need itWe need it so badly.
The famed Hydraulic Press Channel has long been the premier destination for people who love to watch stuff get smashed. But did you know it can also fold fabric?
Well, “fold” is a loose term — one that, in this case, means “smash.” But this video, which aims to discover how many times the press can fold a piece of fabric, is a fun twist on the standard destruction clip.
After wandering around the Pacific Crest Trail, YouTuber decided to live out of an undisclosed storage unit while he was turning his Honda Civic into a cozy camper. The unit features running water but also a bar, toaster oven, hot plate, bed, 4K TV, internet and surround sound.
Obviously, living in a storage unit is illegal, and given the hot plate and toaster oven this guy has, it’s also a fire hazard. Just look at the placement of his paper towel holder.
