That is all

Black Friday air fryer deals are live, and they’re great

UPDATE: Nov. 25, 2021, 9:50 a.m. EST This story has been updated to include additional sales from Ninja, Instant Pot, and more. Below are our top picks at each retailer.

The Black Friday deals are in full swing.

Widespread supply chain issues have made this year’s holiday shopping season a bit frantic, which is why so many retailers started their sales early. Air fryers are expected to be hot ticket items this year (just like last year) and we’ve been seeing solid deals on fryers from major brands like Ninja, Instant Pot, Philips, Breville, and more.

We’re expecting to see plenty more sales on basket-style air fryers, oven-style air fryers, and pressure cooker-slash-air fryer combos as Black Friday progresses, so bookmark this page and keep checking back for updated deals.

Best Buy air fryer deals

Why we like it

While this Ninja Foodi model looks more like a spaceship than a pressure cooker, it’s one of the kitchen brands most versatile products yet. It features a lid that allows for steaming and crisping at the same time, which allows for fast, moist, and crispy meals. It features 14 functions (pressure cook, steam and crisp, steam and bake, air fry, broil, bake/roast, dehydrate, sear/sauté, steam, sous vide, slow cook, yogurt, keep warm, and proof) and features a roomy eight quart pot and a five quart crisp basket.

Walmart air fryer deals

Black ninja basket air fryer

Why we like it

This deal has already sold out once this shopping season, and it’s likely to sell out again. The beloved Ninja 4-quart air fryer has a wide temperature range of 105 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, which allows you to dehydrate or crisp. The one-touch controls are simple to use, just choose from one of the four cooking presets (air fry, dehydrate, roast, or reheat) or manually set the desired time and temperature.

The retail price on this air fryer is $119.99, so this discount is only $3 away from the lowest price we’ve ever seen on the model. Considering the exact same air fryer is $99.99 at Amazon, buying from Walmart will save you over $30.

Why we like it

Ideal for small spaces, the Cuisinart TOA-28 packs all the power of the well-loved Cuisinart TOA-60 but at a fraction of the size (and price). It features six functions (convection bake, convection broil, air fry, toast, bagel and warm), can toast up to four pieces of bread at once, and is still big enough to cook an entire three-pound chicken.

Target air fryer deals

Why we like it

Target has entered the Duo Crisp chat. To compete with the Amazon vs. Walmart Duo Crisp rivalry, Target dropped a deal that’s better than all the deals we’ve seen on the six-quart model so far. This $99.99 deal brings the 6-quart Duo crisp to the lowest price we’ve seen this shopping season so far —and we’re confident this is the lowest available price on this model as of the time of writing.

How to shop for an air fryer and avoid shipping delays this Black Friday

Supply chain issues and shipping delays across the globe almost guarantee that the most popular products like air fryers will sell out and be unavailable at some point during the shopping season. With that being said, if you see an air fryer that you want on sale, scoop one up for the foodie, busy parent, or lazy cook in your life while they’re still in stock.

Last year leading up to Black Friday, we saw major discounts on multiple Ninja Foodi devices, as well as a Walmart deal that brought the Instant Pot Duo Crisp down to only $79. Throughout Black Friday 2021, we’ll likely see big discounts for short amounts of time — the products are sure to go fast.

To keep shoppers on their toes, Best Buy is kicked off its own Black Friday sale a week early on Nov. 19. We’ve seen tons of air fryer deals from this sales event — including even further price drops on models that were already on sale. Some highlights included a $100 discount on the Ninja Foodi XL pressure cooker and steam fryer, and a $100 discount on the Ninja Foodi Smart XL 6-in-1 Indoor Grill with Air Fryer. There are also major price drops on pretty much every one of Best Buy’s own Bella Pro air fryers and tons more.

What does an air fryer do?

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Air fryers are just differently-shaped, hyper-efficient convection ovens. They work using internal heating elements and high-powered convection fans that circulate hot air around your food to achieve a crispy, golden result that’s similar to actual frying — without the oil.

Air fryers are not only the ideal appliance for getting that ideal crunch. They’re also amazing for speedy weeknight dinners. Most air fryers cook food around 30% faster than conventional ovens, so they’re great for busy parents, young professionals, and lazy cooks. You won’t be resigned to just heating up frozen foods in your air fryer — they’re also handy for veggie side dishes, roasting proteins, and so much more.

What are the different types of air fryers?

The two main types of air fryers are basket-style and oven-style. Basket-style air fryers are more well-known, and they tend to be smaller, cheaper, and cook food slightly faster than their oven counterparts, due to more condensed heat in a smaller cooking area. These tend to be great for making meals for one to four people (if you’re feeding more folks than that, you’ll have to work in batches).

Oven-style air fryers are larger, more expensive, and have significantly more features — but they tend to take longer to preheat and cook than basket-style air fryers. If you’re looking for an appliance that can air fry, slow cook, roast, bake, dehydrate, and toast, plenty of oven-style air fryers will basically replace your convection oven for good.

How much should an air fryer cost?

The price of an air fryer depends on a few things: size, the number of functions it has, and whether it’s controlled digitally or not. The cheapest air fryers will be small basket-style fryers (around 2.5 quarts), can only air fry, and will typically be controlled via analog dials. These types will usually cost anywhere from $40 to $80 retail.

In the middle of the pack, we’ll have the mid-tier basket-style air fryers. These usually have a few added functions, one-touch cooking presets, will be between four and eight quarts, and are controlled with either digital buttons or a touch screen. They’ll run around $80 to $150, depending on the model.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have the upgrade picks. The most expensive air fryers are usually oven-style and have multiple different functions in addition to air frying — like baking, roasting, dehydrating, and more. You can expect these versatile all-in-one appliances to cost $150 and up — with the fanciest models reaching up to $500.

Most of these air fryers will see steep discounts during the Black Friday shopping holiday, and we’re already seeing really solid price drops — so you can definitely still score an upgrade without endangering your bank account.
