Conquering Conflict through Creation: The Power of a Child's Canvas
13/02/2008
On 13th February, an art exhibition completed by children and young people from the SOS Children’s Village and SOS School in Bethlehem was opened in Jerusalem. By compelling visitors to see the world through the mind of the child artist, the featured pieces hope to empower the children and demonstrate how they can act as catalysts for change for the future of the Middle East.
The opening of the exhibition was well-attended by several dozen children from Bethlehem and their families, as well as several Israeli, Arab and German guests. Additional performances included dance and a musical performance by children from Silwan, East Jerusalem.
The project forms part of a collaborative arts programme between SOS Children and the Willy Brandt Center.
