Description

Formally established in 1862, High Court at Calcutta was then known as High Court of Judicature at Fort William. The first High court to be set up in India, Calcutta High court is one of the three Chartered High Courts to be set up in India, along with the High Courts of Bombay, Madras. Here is an <a href=" http://calcuttahighcourt.nic.in/images/old_hc_1.gif">old photograph</a> of it.
