Sister city of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Nara, Japan, presented Kasuga stone lanterns to Canberra in 1997. These are sited in the Canberra-Nara Japanese garden at Lennox Gardens, beside Lake Burley Griffin that is the centrepiece of Canberra.
