Pan Am Flight 103 initial damage sequence. This is a graphic showing how Pan Am Flight 103 was destroyed by a bomb in December 1988. This three-frame sequence demonstrates the likely damage to the aircraft in the first three seconds after the bomb detonated.

This version of the graphic was created by me (User:FirstPrinciples), adapted from a printed image in Air Accidents Investigation Branch report 2/90 (EW/C1094); graphic B-24. The animation is based on a similar concept on the Aviation Safety Network (ASN)
