Fundraising ideas

From quizzes to marathons and collections to overseas adventuresÂ…there are many ways you can support the work of SOS Children’s Villages. We welcome activities that will raise the profile and funds for our villages and projects around the world.

Here are some examples - but this is not an exhaustive list and do let us know of your own tried and tested ways!

  • Hold an event: at home, in the community, at work or in school for example, cake sales, non-uniform days, quizzes, ‘win a day off work’ raffles - the possibilities are endless. You can see our A-Z of fundraising or download the PDF version of the fundraising ideas for inspiration!

  • Do a sponsored event or challenge

  • Join or establish an SOS Children Supporter Group: email Caroline, caroline@soschildren.org, to find out if there is a group in your area

  • Do an envelope collection where you live

  • Encourage your company/church/school/rotary etc to choose SOS Children at its charity of the year

  • Donations in lieu - increasingly, supporters are requesting donations in lieu of gifts for times of celebration such as anniversaries, wedding and birthdays. It is easy to collect these donations online by setting up a Justgiving page - gift on UK donations can be generated too! Find out more about Justgiving here

  • Choose Charity Flowers when sending a mail-order bouquet: www.charityflowers.co.uk - we are one of the charities that benefits each time you place an order.

  • Have a footer/banner/link to our website
