That is all

Best Buy is starting its Black Friday sale this week, because screw the calendar

UPDATE: Oct. 18, 2021, 1:35 p.m. EDT This story has been updated to include information about Member Monday, a one-day sale that’s exclusive to My Best Buy and Best Buy Totaltech members.

Best Buy is throwing out the Black Friday playbook.

The electronics retailer announced last week that it will have Black Friday deals available multiple times throughout the holiday season, starting with a four-day sale this Tuesday, Oct. 19 through Friday, Oct. 22. It also plans on kicking off its official sale a week early on Nov. 19. (Deep breaths.)

What’s more, all deals will be covered by a new “Black Friday Price Guarantee” that their discounts won’t get any better before the big day — so you know you’re getting the best deal possible no matter when you shop. (If a better price does crop up for some reason, Best Buy will automatically refund the difference for My Best Buy and Best Buy Totaltech members; non-members can get reimbursed by visiting their local store or contacting its customer care team about a price match.)

Best Buy says its decision to basically rewrite the October and November calendars is meant to “help [customers] get the goods early.” Our take? It’s partially to get a jump on what’s expected to be a huge holiday shopping season, but mostly an attempt to avoid those supply chain disruptions affecting everything from computer chips to chicken wings.

This week’s initial sale will feature hundreds of markdowns on “the season’s hottest tech,” including $150 off a 70-inch Samsung 4K smart TV, $180 off the matte black Beats Studio3 headphones, and Chromebooks as cheap as $99. If you can’t wait ’til then, sign up for a free My Best Buy account or join the Best Buy Totaltech support program ($199.99/year) for access to an exclusive Member Monday savings event that’s live through 11:59 p.m. CST. We’ve rounded up some of the highlights below:

Lenovo Yoga 6 — $549.99 (save $200)

It normally retails for $749.99, but members can snag Lenovo’s top-rated flip-and-fold laptop on sale for just $549.99 — that’s a 27% savings. (This particular configuration is an Abyss Blue model that comes with 256GB of storage, 8GB RAM, an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor, and Windows 11.)

TCL 55-inch 6-Series Mini-LED 4K smart TV — $674.99 (save $275)

This beautifully bright TV features Mini-LED backlighting for deep blacks and intense contrast. (That’s the same snazzy technology Apple’s baked into the latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro, FYI.) Members can pick one up at Best Buy for just $674.99, or 29% off its $949.99 MSRP.

Powerbeats Pro — $169.99 (save $80)

Beats’ excellent wireless earphones sound better, have a longer battery life, and fit better than Apple’s AirPods, said Mashable tech reporter Ray Wong — do what you will with that information. Best Buy’s members-only deal on the lava red variant brings them down to $169.99 (or 32% off), which is just barely higher than last year’s best-ever Black Friday pricing.

NordicTrack Commercial X32i Treadmill — $3,099.99 (save $700)

Best Buy has slightly inflated the list price of NordicTrack’s new WiFi-enabled Commercial X32i treadmill — it retails for $3,799.99 on the brand’s website — but this members-only deal is still very Worth It: The $3,099.99 sale price saves you a good 18%, and it includes a free 30-day iFIT family membership worth $39. (For comparison’s sake, Amazon has it listed for $3,199.99.)

Chefman TurboFry Air Fryer — $79.99 (save $50)

This hefty (8-quart!) air fryer features a built-in divider so you can cook two different foods at once, all without the extra grease you’d get from traditional frying methods. Log into your My Best Buy or Totaltech account to get it on sale for only $79.99 — a 38% savings.
