That is all

Another reason to be a Amazon Prime member before Prime Day: A free year of Grubhub+

Save $120: As of July 6, new and existing Prime members can tack free food delivery onto their free shipping perks with a free year of Grubhub+ membership. Usually, the service costs $9.99 per month, or about $120 annually.

Getting food delivered straight to your door is great, but exorbitant delivery fees are markedly less so.

Amazon is offering a solution via a new partnership with Grubhub, which allows both existing and new Prime members alike to get an entire year of Grubhub+ for free. That’s $120 worth of Grubhub’s premium subscription service at no additional cost, and with no additional catch. Plus, you’ll be saving on those delivery fees.

The main draw of Grubhub+ is, of course, that orders over $12 come with no additional delivery charge (from most restaurants, at least). Occasionally, members can also get exclusive discounts, and whenever you donate your change to charity at checkout, Grubhub will match the donation.

Though this offer may seem somewhat random, it’s the result of Amazon taking a 2% stake in Grubhub. As for what that means about Grubhub+ permanently becoming a perk of Prime, we can’t say for sure.

But we do know that even if you already have Grubhub+, you can still access this deal through your Prime account and save some cash. And if you’ve been on the fence about signing up for Prime, this might just be the reason to finally do it — and you’ll get access to all those sweet, sweet Prime Day deals that’ll hit full force in about a week.

Just note that if you do cancel your Prime membership during the course of your free year of Grubhub+, you will lose your benefits. However, if you decide to sign up for Prime again, you always have the option of activating the offer again, too.
