The trailer for David O. Russell’s Amsterdam is, above all else, a parade of movie stars. We’ve got the central cast of Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington, who play a trio of fast friends implicated in a murder they did not commit. Those three actors would be enough of a draw by themselves, but rounding out the cast we have (brace yourselves): Robert de Niro, Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldaña, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon, Timothy Olyphant, Andrea Riseborough, and Rami Malek. Oh, and Taylor Swift.
Beyond the cast, the trailer is full of our fast-talking leads trying to clear their names and worrying that the murderer will come after them next. There’s dancing, drugs, war, and fleeing from the authorities. And did I mention that there’s Taylor Swift? Because there’s Taylor Swift. (For about one second.)
