Previously, but (as the above German description explains) in no way "originally", from de.wikipedia; description page used to be here. That, in turn, was from "der englischen Wikipedia", more specifically at en:Image:WhiteHouseEngraving.JPG, uploaded by Infrogmation 20:40, 7 November 2002. Infrogmation scanned it from a 19th century US cyclopedia in his own collection. (If you'd like to know more about that book, you should have asked Infrogmation ( talk) before Hurricane Katrina. Sorry. Maybe you'll find another original copy somewhere.) |

Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 70 years: Mexico has 100 years, Colombia has 80 years, and Guatemala and Samoa have 75 years. This image may not be in the public domain in these countries, which moreover do not implement the rule of the shorter term.
