Summary
White Tern (a.k.a. 'Fairy Tern') photographed on Midway Island on April 6, 2001 by me, Gary B. Edstrom, and released to the public domain. These birds are very territorial and will swoop down and try to scare away intruders, even hitting them on the head. They do not build nests and simply lay their egg on a bare branch of a tree.
