Chicago and Northwestern (CNW) locomotive #8540
General Electric (GE) model C40-8
“Zito” safety yellow paint scheme

Photo taken by Russell Meier on October 10, 1990 at Shawnee, Wyoming. At this time of the day, this part of the railroad was closed for maintenance. The crew ran a set of light locomotives, including #8540, to this location to eat lunch. Since the locomotives were parked next to the highway, it was easy to get several shots of each locomotive. This was the best shot.
