Sketch of Sitting Bull by Jerome Stillson, artist and correspondent for the New York Herald, published in the Dec. 8, 1877 issue of Harper's Weekly. It was the first likeness of Sitting Bull to appear in public print according to Robert Utley in The Lance and the Shield (1993).
