Glider crossing the finish line at high speed after completing a competition task of several hundred kilometers. It is dropping water ballast, which it must jettison before landing. Since it is travelling at about 140 knots (280 km/h), it still has enough energy to climb after crossing the line so it can make a normal landing approach.

The glider is a Rolladen-Schneider LS4. It has the UK competition marking of PZ. It was being flown by John Roberts.
