The Ancient House in Buttermarket Ipswich has a facade which shows a particularly fine example of w:pargeting. The four bay windows on the upper floor are decorated with scenes from the 'four continents' of the world. When the hall was built in 1670, Australia had yet to be discovered by Europeans.
At the centre of the decoration is the coat of arms given to the town of Ipswich by Charles II.
