Description

Beijing en:Tiananmen Square 180 degree overview picture

  • Viewpoint is from en:Tiananmen Gate, looking south.
  • Plain-clothed and armed PLA Paramilitary can be seen standing guard at both ends of the photo.
  • The building to the left is the Museum of Chinese History.
  • The towered building beyond the far left corner of the square is the Victorian era railway station, now used for shops.
  • Directly ahead is the en:Monument to the People's Heroes and beyond that is the en:Mausoleum of en:Mao Zedong.
  • To the right is the en:Great Hall of the People.
  • The waterway in the foreground is the Imperial Palace en:moat.
