Chindt Singh) of the Indian Army at an identification parade, indicating a Japanese soldier who had mistreated Singh while he was a prisoner of war, for the Australian war crimes commission. Japanese forces used many Indian Army personnel as forced labour in New Guinea and neighbouring islands .
