Description
English: Façade and part of north side of Wayne State University's Old Main Building. Old enough to have a Michigan historical marker and predating the addition of "State" to the University's name, and despite all the fancy new green glass buildings, Old Main remains the quintessential WSU building. It was built in 1896 as the Central Detroit High School and later began housing a junior college before becoming the central building of Wayne State. Its tower, in a stylized image, graces the top of the front page of every issue of The South End, and photographs of the building are used in a vast array of marketing materials.
I shot this particular photograph, on a Canon EOS 10D, from the top floor of Parking Structure 6, on rainy 13 January 2005. I release this file under the terms of GDFL. Del arte 21:07, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)
